After yesterday’s meeting with the client we began to look at a few precedents that use cement in their wok to get organic forms. We then drew up a number of proposals which we brought into the plaster workshop this morning.
We were given instructions on how best to mould the shapes we were after as well as what would wok with the ferrocement.

We realised that the material was going to inform the shape, thus, we were looking for alternatives of how best to achieve the same curves and undulations in the cement. Our next test of the day was to use negative mounds to create out of the form.

As we were looking to get some textures in the interior of the ‘bowl’ we created some man mad textures to see how they would come out in the form.
